SALEM [Welland Tribune November 27, 1943]

Salem, Nov. 27-Owing to the redecoration of Salem United church there was no service or Sunday school last Sunday.

Mrs Earl Strawn and nephew, little David McManus of Welland, and Miss Billy Aldry of Perry were supper guests of Mr and Mrs C.E Strawn and family on Wednesday.

Mrs Amos Robbins and daughters Mrs George Metler and Mrs Kenneth Lane, spent Thursday in Port Colborne.

Those who called on Mrs Janet Chambers last week were: Mrs H. Wittle, Mrs E. Farr, Mrs E. Hayward. Mrs E Crow, Mrs H. Farr, Mrs E, Swiek, Mrs C. Strawn. Mrs Neale, and Rev. James Hampson.

Pte. Ruth Neale, C.W.A.C., Toronto, and  Miss Audrey Neale of Wellandport spent the weekend home of their parents, Mr ad Mrs G.F. Neale.

Mr and Mrs C,e. Strawn called on Mrs Florence Chambers and Mr and Mrs C. Chambers of Fenwick on Friday evening.

Mr and Mrs Edwin Swick and son Ronald spent Sunday at For Erie with Mr and Mrs Walter Wachls and family.

Mrs Clarence Willford spent Wednesday with friends at Fonthill.
