SALEM [Welland Telegraph October 10, 1941]

Rally Day Service
Salem, Oct 11-Rally Day was observed at Salem on Sunday morning when Church and Sunday School were combined. William Milligan, the superintendent, led the service, and followed the order of service issued by the Board of Religious Education. The scripture readings were given by Venita Gent, Leo Robins and Elsie Milligan. A story, “A Rainy Sunday,” was given by Ernest Brown. The primary, junior and intermediate classes sang : Jesus Bids Us Shine,”
The pastor, Rev. James Hampson, gave an interesting talk on the theme, “Let us Go into the House of the Lord,” A unique phase of the service was a baptismal service when Irene Elizabeth, infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Jake Traver, was baptised.. Next Sunday, Sunday school will meet as usual at 10 o’clock and church service at 7.30p.m.
