DEATHS – MISS S.C. HAIST

The death occurred on Sunday night of Miss Sarah Catherine Haist at the home of her brother Leslie Haist, Pelham Centre, in her 90th year. She had resided in that community all her life. She had been quite ill for four years. A member of Pelham Evangelical Church she had for many years been a member of its Ladies’ Aid. She was a daughter of the late David and Mary Haist and the family came to Canada from Germany more than 110 years ago. Deceased is survived by two brothers-Leslie and Asa, both in Pelham Centre, and two sisters, Mrs. James Beattie of Hamilton and Mrs. Frank Tufford of Fenwick. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 15, at 3.30 p.m., from the Drake and Barron Funeral Home, Fonthill to Hillside Cemetery, and Rev. J.E. Bender will officiate.
