J.N. MCWATTERS FATHER SUCCUMBS

J.N. McWaters, 65 Sugerloaf street, Port Colborne, received word this morning of the death early this morning at Sarnia General hospital of his father, T.J. McWatters, 116 North Vidal street, Sarnia, building contractor, in his 73rd year. Death followed an illness of several months.

The late Mr. McWatters was born at Watford and had resided in Sarnia for the past 33 years. He was an adherent of the United Church in Sarnia.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy Hyatt, Petrolia and Mrs. Norman Harris, Sarnia; two sons, J. N. McWatters, Port Colborne and Arnold McWatters, Ottawa; ten grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John Laidlaw, London. He was predeceased by his wife, Violet North, in March, 1942 and by a daughter, Iva ten years ago.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon from the Robb funeral home, Sarnia. Interment will be in Lakeview cemetery, Sarnia.

T.J. McWatters Dies At Sarnia
Sarnia, Jan 16-Thomas J. McWatters, 71, local contractor, and a resident of Sarnia more than 6 years, died in hospital today.

Mr. McWatters was the father of W.A. (Arnie) McWatters for many years a football star with the Sarnia Imperials and latterly with the Ottawa Trojans, as playing coach.

Another son is John M. McWatters of Port Colborne, an official of the Sarnia Steamship Lines.

Funeral services will be held Saturday with interment in Lakeview cemetery.
