MRS JOHN CARPENTER

The funeral of Mrs Alice Maude Carpenter. Widow of the late John Carpenter, who passed away on Saturday evening, January 18, at the Welland County General hospital, was held this morning from the family home, 11 Locust Street, to St. Mary’s Church, where solemn requiem mass was sung by Rev. Father F.A. McKenna, assisted by Father F. Mahoney as deacon, and Father J.F. Culnan as sub-deacon, Father Mahoney officiated also at graveside.

The large number of floral tributes and mass cards noted at the funeral attested to the love and esteem in which deceased had long been held.

The pall-bearers were Thomas Breen. Donald Young, Alderman W.L. Valencourt, John Carpenter, John Bailey and Cecil Ricker.
